Integrative therapy
The integrative approach to therapy assumes that every person is unique and therefore requires an approach that is tailored to suit their unique make up and needs. Instead of relying on one therapy model to fit all, it looks at selecting theories and techniques from different therapy models in order to adapt to the requirements of the individual. In practice, by merging elements of different psychological theories or modifying standard treatments, integrative therapy may often provide a more flexible and inclusive approach to treatment compared to singular forms of psychotherapy.
