Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) gets its name from one of its core messages: accept what is out of your personal control and commit to action that improves and enriches your life.

Compared to other therapies ACT moves away from changing or correcting your thoughts to alleviate suffering.

Instead, ACT aims to change your relationship with your thoughts and feelings so you can free yourself from their grip and from the patterns that prevent you from living a flexible, meaningful, and fulfilled life.

The therapy incorporates acceptance strategies, mindfulness techniques, and a wide range of behavioural approaches already known to be effective from CBT.
